| Cards Edge Past Noise, 6-5 | Troy Donaldson helped his team muscle past the Nevada Noise, 6-5. In the game, the Portland left fielder went 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Portland reliever Jerry Beck picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Mark Murchison absorbed the loss. Valentín Reséndez earned his 28th save in 31 chances.
Donaldson had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 0-1 fastball from Mark Murchison, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Cards a 6-4 lead. It was the 21st home run of the year for Donaldson.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Donaldson told the Portland Observer.
The Cards bumped their record to 61-60 with this latest triumph.
