River Sharks Walk It Off for 5th Win of Season
|
The El Dorado Oilers got a sterling performance from first baseman Ernesto Acosta, but the River Sharks still prevailed, 8-7. Acosta was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 4-5 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. Josh Graham picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. César López was tagged with the loss. The Oilers fall to 4-9 and continue their uneasy start to the 2029 season.
The game was at a stalemate until catcher Jesús Hernández came to bat in the bottom of the 13th. Facing El Dorado pitcher César López, he hit a 2-2 splitter for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Austin on top, 8-7.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Hernández.
