Bandits Continue Skid Thanks to Guerrero, Stars
Not everyone stuck through the 66-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.

Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Felipe Guerrero, the Springfield Stars defeated the San Francisco Bandits, 15-6. Guerrero was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Stars. The winner was Marcos Flores, who threw 98 pitches over 6 innings. The left-hander was charged with 3 runs on 5 hits.

Guerrero contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Springfield in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Guerrero took a changeup from Francisco Arellano and stroked the home run to right-center. His 34th home run of the season allowed the Stars to leap in front, 3-1.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Tommy Cox said.

The last-place Bandits have lost 5 consecutive games.
