Starting pitcher Chris Martin, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Martin got the win, improving to 9-8. He allowed 9 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Martin allowed 1 earned run. New Orleans goes to 68-44. The win puts them 5½ games up in their division.
