Cook Batters San Francisco Big Time | There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Dave Cook is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the San Francisco Bandits at Rainbow Stadium today. The monster effort from the 25-year-old first baseman helped the Maui Tropics take the win, 10-7.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Bandits manager Frank Rodgers. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Dave Cook hit a solo-shot off Octávio Pérez in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
For the season Cook is currently batting .354 with 32 home runs and 73 RBIs. In 101 games he has reached base at a .439 rate and scored 84 runs to date. |
