| Young 4-4 as River Sharks Squeeze Past Jersey Shore | With right fielder Edward Young leading the charge, the Austin River Sharks defeated the Jersey Shore D-Bags, 6-5, at Ballpark at the Shore. Young, who is tied for 9th in the CL in extra base hits with 47, went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Edward Cadle picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. John Hall was tagged with the loss. Paco Gutiérrez earned his 20th save in 23 chances.
Young had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 3-1 fastball from John Hall, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the River Sharks a 6-5 lead. It was the 24th home run of the year for Young.
In postgame comments to the Austin Daily, Young said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
The River Sharks move to 40-66 with the win, while the D-Bags drop to 48-58.
