| Oilers Clip Cards in Tight Contest | The Portland Cards got a superb performance from pitcher Allan Bader. Still, it wasn't enough to beat El Dorado. The Oilers won the game, 5-2. In spite of the loss, Bader was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Kuang-yin Yue got the save, his 17th in 21 chances. The last-place Oilers now have a win-loss record of 39-67.
Theron Harper made it 3-2 in favor of El Dorado when he delivered a run-scoring double. It came with no one out in the top of the eighth. The Oilers went on to win.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Harper told the El Dorado Bulletin.
