| Late Rally by Oilers Seals 5th Straight Win | With third baseman Mathew Clayton leading the charge, the El Dorado Oilers defeated the So Cal Bruins, 7-5, at Jersey West at Staples Field. Clayton, who is tied for 3rd in the NL in triples with 7, was 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Kuang-yin Yue got the save, his 16th in 20 chances. El Dorado is now riding a 5-game win streak.
Clayton had a game-changing triple in the top of the ninth. On a 1-0 fastball from Marty Burgess, he banged a 2-run triple to left-center, giving the Oilers a 7-5 lead. It was the 7th triple of the year for Clayton.
"This team is real focused right now," said El Dorado manager Chris Wilson.
