G-Strings Lose, 9-5, at Bay View Park | The San Francisco Bandits beat the Nashville G-Strings, 9-5, at Bay View Park. San Francisco designated hitter Michael Elliott earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 4. Tim Murray earned the win to go to 7-7. He allowed 4 earned runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. Carlos Ledezma converted his 3rd save in 7 tries.
Elliott contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for San Francisco in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 4-3, Elliott took a splitter from Javier García and stroked the triple to left. His 6th triple of the season allowed the Bandits to leap in front, 5-4.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Elliott told a San Francisco Times reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
Even with the win, the Bandits have a dismal 34-67 record.
