Victory Over Browns Takes So Cal to 61-38 | The So Cal Bruins defeated the St. Louis Browns, 9-6, at Jersey West at Staples Field today. Leading the charge for So Cal was third baseman Lawrence Schroeder. He was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Earning his 7th save of the year was Marty Burgess. The Bruins have an impressive 61-38 record.
Earl Wiggins, who is tied for 2nd in the NL with a 1.042 OPS, helped out the So Cal cause in the bottom of the fourth inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the catcher went 2 for 5 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We got the victory," said Wiggins. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
