Bandits Stymie Nevada, Take 3-0 Win
|
The San Francisco Bandits got a stellar performance from pitcher Luis Ortíz, who handcuffed the Nevada offense en route to a 3-0 win at Branda's Palace. Ortíz picked up the win for San Francisco, going 5.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 1-1. "Lousy" describes the Nevada performance in the early going.
Alan McGilroy aided the San Francisco cause with a 2-run home run in the top of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We made a couple of mistakes," said Nevada skipper Bobby Vickers, "and it cost us."
