Late Rally by Athletics Secures Win | The Philadelphia Athletics did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Nassau Rockets at Edmund Fitzgerald Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Rob Greene, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Esteban Juárez in relief. His record improves to 6-4. Suezo Morimoto took the loss. The Rockets, now 56-43, have lost 4 in a row.
Valentín Borges was the walk-off hero for Philadelphia. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Athletics catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Greene told reporters after the game.
