| Newell, Stars Wallop Bellas in Game 4 of R3 | The Springfield Stars defeated the Pocatello Bellas, 4-2 in Game 4 of the League Championship today. Earning player of the game honors was first baseman Elliott Newell, who went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The win moves Springfield into a 2-2 tie with Pocatello in the series.
Newell had a consequential at-bat in the top of the fifth for the Stars. Coming up with a runner on 1st and Springfield trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Newell told reporters after the game.
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Claudio Martínez for Springfield and Bob Moss for Pocatello.
