| League Championship Game 1 Victory for Martínez\n and Springfield | The Springfield Stars powered past the visiting Pocatello Bellas, 3-1, in the opener of the League Championship at Kekambas Park today. Springfield starting pitcher Claudio Martínez threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball, to lead the charge. The Stars now lead the series 1-0.
Springfield grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and a runner on 1st, Jesús Tobías delivered a run-scoring triple, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Stars.
"There was a kid in the stands with a sign that said 'Springfield Stars (probably) 2029 BSA Championship Champions'," Tobías told reporters after the game. "I told him, 'Premature, but I like the confidence.'"
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Kekambas Park in Springfield. The scheduled starters for the game are Bob Moss for Pocatello and Kyu-pyeong Pak for Springfield.
