| Waters, Aces Wallop Beavers in Game 3 of R3 | Riding the 2-hit performance of center fielder Barrett Waters, the Kenilworth Aces got a road win against the Baffin Island Beavers, 11-5, in Game 3 of the League Championship today. Waters went 2 for 5 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Aces, who now lead the best-of-7 series, 2 games to 1.
Roberto García, who is a five-time All-Star, aided the Kenilworth cause with a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth. For the game, the first baseman was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," García told the Kenilworth Herald.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow at Beaver Dam in Iqaluit. The scheduled starters for the game are José Martínez for Kenilworth and Reagan Wear for Baffin Island.
