| Stars, Royale with Cheese Play 10 to Settle Game 3, Springfield Now Leads Series 2-1 | With right-hander Kyu-pyeong Pak leading the charge, the Springfield Stars got past the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese, 3-1, in extra innings in Game 3 of the Divisional Round today. Pak threw 6 innings allowing 1 run at Hawthrone Grill as Springfield managed to take to a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series.
Calvin Bennett's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Jason Taylor for a 2-run home run. It put Springfield in front, 3-1.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Bennett. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
The next game is scheduled for tomorrow at Hawthrone Grill in Kalamazoo. Slated to start are Marcos Flores for the Springfield Stars and Oscar Wheeler for the the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese.
