| Baffin Island Win Evens Series at 1 | In a crucial game, the Baffin Island Beavers put on their best show, beating the Kenilworth Aces by a final score of 2-0 today. Braydon Schute earned player of the game honors, as he threw 5 innings of shutout ball. Baffin Island and Kenilworth are now tied at 1 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Tied up with the Aces in the top of the fifth inning, the Beavers got a boost from designated hitter Lorenzo Villa. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Villa saw a 1-1 fastball from Lorenzo Aguilar and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Baffin Island on top, 1-0.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Schute said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
The next game is scheduled for Monday at Beaver Dam. The scheduled starters for the game are Erwin Entwistle for Kenilworth and Jesse Little for Baffin Island.
