| Home Loss Shrinks Beavers' Series Lead to 3-2 | Already down in the Divisional Round, the Irvine Gang Green put on their best show, beating the Baffin Island Beavers by a final score of 5-0 today. Dae-ho Kim earned player of the game honors, as he threw 6 innings of shutout ball. Irvine now trails Baffin Island 3-2 in the best-of-7 affair.
Tied up with the Beavers in the top of the fourth inning, the Gang Green got a boost from first baseman Víctor Quiñones. With the bases empty, Quiñones saw a 1-2 fastball from Reagan Wear and hit a solo home run to break the stalemate and put Irvine on top, 1-0.
Quiñones called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
The next game is scheduled for Tuesday in Irvine. Slated to start are Braydon Schute for Baffin Island and Mike Marrero for Irvine.
