| Beavers, Gang Green Play 14 to Settle Game 1, Baffin Island Now Leads Series 1-0 | One game in and the Divisional Round is already looking exhausting.
The Baffin Island Beavers and the Irvine Gang Green needed 14 innings to settle Game 1, with the Beavers finally taking the 4-3 victory at The Ballpark at Irvine. Earning player of the game honors in the win was Baffin Island starting pitcher Jesse Little, who threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. The Beavers and Gang Green will play a best-of-7 series.
Tony Morton had a nice at-bat for the Beavers with no one out in the top of the tenth. With a runner on 2nd, the center fielder flied out, which would prove important in the Baffin Island win.
"I liked his command," said Baffin Island manager Bobby Jones. "Jesse was throwing strikes."
Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow in Irvine. The scheduled starters for the game are Reagan Wear for the Baffin Island Beavers and Dae-ho Kim for the the Irvine Gang Green.
