Bruins Turn Back Maui, 5-3 | The So Cal Bruins topped the Maui Tropics, 5-3, in National League action at Jersey West at Staples Field. The player of the game was So Cal pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native Ramiro Jiménez. César Menéndez notched his 6th save in 8 chances. The Bruins are now 57-37, while the Tropics fall to 44-49.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, shortstop Ken Hernández came through big-time for the Bruins. With So Cal leading 2-1, he belted a 3-run home run.
"It was a solid team effort," said Jiménez after the game.
