Late Rally by Athletics Secures Win | Eric Neal left his imprint on the 6-4 Philadelphia win against the New York Knights. Neal was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Philadelphia reliever Mario Tobías was the winner. His record is now 4-2. The losing pitcher was James Jones. Esteban Juárez converted his 14th save in 16 tries.
Had Arturo Molina not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases empty, Molina hit a solo home run. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Athletics.
"It was a solid team effort," said Neal after the game.
The win puts the Athletics at 33-60, while the Knights drop to 43-50.
