| Tropics Trip Bruins in Extras | Matt Silver batted in 4 runs to lead Maui to a win over So Cal. The final score was 9-7. Silver chipped in with 1 single and 2 home runs. Kent Robinson notched his 10th save in 10 chances. Maui now sits in 4th place in the National League Western Division at 44-48.
Maui used the timely hitting of Roberto Gómez to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Tropics on top, 8-7. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It was terrific getting this win," Gómez said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
