Baffin Island Bats Go Silent in 3-0 Loss | The New York Knights got a strong performance from pitcher Thatcher Smith, who stymied the Baffin Island offense en route to a 3-0 win at Beaver Dam. At 41-47, the Knights find themselves in third place in the National League Eastern Division.
Steve Sampson aided the New York cause with a 2-run single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the designated hitter went 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs.
"It was just a matter of executing," said New York manager Eduardo Ortíz.
