Soto Helps Marshals Run Win Streak to 3
|
Houston and Springfield took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Houston Marshals defeated the Springfield Stars, 6-1, at Kekambas Park. Houston left fielder Raúl Soto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Daniel Grant was the winner. Over 6 innings, he allowed 1 run on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth when Soto hit a 3-run home run. It propelled the Marshals into the lead, 3-0.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Soto told the Houston Chronicle.
Losses have been rare for the Stars, who are now 7-2.
