Hill, Browns Manhandle River Sharks | Greendale Community Field was the site for Continental League action featuring the Austin River Sharks and St. Louis Browns.
The St. Louis Browns beat the Austin River Sharks, 15-1, at Greendale Community Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of left fielder Mike Hill, who captured player of the game honors. He went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Scott Walker got credit for the win, improving to 7-5. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 5 innings.
Hill had a key at-bat for St. Louis early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring double. It was his 8th double of the season and gave St. Louis an early 1-0 lead.
"That game had disaster written all over it," said Austin skipper Will Shaw. "I could feel it."
The Browns bumped their record to 45-38 with this latest triumph.
