| Browns Stymie Austin, Take 5-1 Win | St. Louis and Austin got after it at Greendale Community Field.
St. Louis Browns starter Luis Noriega was in fine form against the Austin River Sharks at Greendale Community Field, leading his team to a 5-1 win. Noriega got the win, improving to 5-3. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 5.2 innings. Noriega allowed no earned runs.
In the top of the fifth inning, shortstop Carlos Alfaro came through big-time for the Browns. With St. Louis leading 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
"We take it day by day here," said Noriega, "and today was a good one for us."
The Browns bumped their record to 44-38 with this latest triumph.
