| Victory Over D-Bags Takes Springfield to 57-21 | Jersey Shore got a terrific performance from shortstop Ricardo González, but it wasn't enough to beat the Springfield Stars. Springfield won the Ballpark at the Shore contest, 9-4. González was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Springfield has 10 straight wins, Jersey Shore 3 straight losses.
It could have been a different outcome for Springfield, had it not been for Norberto Taváres, the 27-year old center fielder . Taváres contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the second inning to put Springfield up, 2-0.
"I wouldn't want to be playing us right now," said Springfield manager Tommy Cox.
