| Looters Get Close Win Over Calrissian | Orlando got a terrific performance from pitcher Jorge Jiménez, but it wasn't enough to beat the New Orleans Looters. New Orleans won the Mel Fields contest, 6-4. Jiménez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Juan Méndez notched his 49th save in 53 chances. The first-place Looters have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Jorge Martínez had a clutch at-bat with no one out in the top of the eighth for the Looters. Coming up with runners on 2nd and 3rd and New Orleans trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Martínez.
