Athletics Trip Rebels in Extras | Philadelphia overcame a superlative game from Derek Simpson to beat Boston, 3-1. The Boston pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of shutout ball. Philadelphia reliever Esteban Juárez picked up the win, upping his record to 7-8. Artie Nelson took the loss. The Rebels, now 57-104, have lost 5 in a row.
