G-Strings Win at New York, 9-2 | The Nashville G-Strings got a stellar performance from pitcher Kip Manning, who handcuffed the New York offense en route to a 9-2 win at Roy Hobbs Memorial Ballpark. Manning went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 14-4. The G-Strings bumped their record to 88-72 with this latest triumph.
In the top of the eighth inning, left fielder Rob Grun came through big-time for the G-Strings. With Nashville leading 6-1, he belted a 3-run home run.
"Enjoyed this one," Grun told the Nashville Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
