| Beavers Score Late to Upend Aces, 2-1 | Two good teams met in a late-season showdown at Beaver Dam.
Kenilworth pitcher José Martínez gave the Beavers all they could handle, but in the end, Baffin Island left Beaver Dam with a 2-1 win. Martínez allowed 1 earned run on 4 hits over 7 innings. Baffin Island reliever Colm Stewart got the win, raising his record to 4-6. Alfonso Ramos was tagged with the loss. Tony Rocha, credited with the save, is now 23 for 27 in save opportunities.
Had Tony Morton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Morton hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Beavers.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Kenilworth skipper Ismael Martínez.
The Beavers bumped their record to 90-69 with this latest triumph.
