Multi-HR Game for Davidson in 7-3 Win | The first-place Springfield Stars welcomed Orlando to Kekambas Park.
The Springfield Stars topped the Orlando Calrissian by the score of 7-3, with the largest share of the credit going to right fielder Derek Davidson. Davidson hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Stars. Hyo-chin Ch'oe picked up the win, improving his season record to 17-6. He struck out 8 in 5 innings. José Valdéz was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 52 of 55 save opportunities.
The Stars got a big at-bat from designated hitter Felipe Guerrero. For the game, Guerrero went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 24th double of the season gave Springfield a 5-3 lead.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Guerrero said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
