| Browns Win at Baffin Island, 5-4 | The Baffin Island Beavers and St. Louis Browns provided some drama at Beaver Dam.
The Baffin Island Beavers got a sterling performance from pitcher Reagan Wear, but the Browns still prevailed, 5-4. Wear was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 6 innings allowing 3 runs. St. Louis now sits at 86-69, while Baffin Island falls to 89-67.
St. Louis used the timely hitting of Javier Martínez to capture the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Browns on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but he made it count.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said St. Louis manager Jeff Porter.
