Vista starter Jung Chwa had a strong outing against the Pocatello Bellas at Connie Mack Stadium. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 8-2 win. The winner was Vista reliever António Martínez, now 4-3. The loser was Jaime Espinoza.
Vista used the clutch hitting of Johnny Williams to capture the win. The left fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Panthers the lead, 4-2. For the game, Williams had 1 single and 2 doubles in 5 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Williams told the Vista Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
