Noise Score Late to Upend Tropics, 5-2 | The Noise had to overcome a fine performance from Maui pitcher Júlio González to grab a 5-2 win at Branda's Palace. González allowed 1 earned run over 7.1 innings. Nevada reliever Elton Johnston was credited with the win, to go to 7-1. César Rúbio took the loss for Maui. Their 79-76 record puts the Noise third in the National League Western Division.
Nevada took a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, left fielder Pablo Reyes hit a 3-run home run that electrified the crowd.
Reyes told a Nevada Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
