| Stars Come Back Late to Top Royale with Cheese | Springfield Stars starter José López turned in a top-notch performance against the Kalamazoo Royale with Cheese at Hawthrone Grill. The result was a win for the Stars, 3-2. José Valdéz got the save, his 50th in 53 chances. Springfield has an impressive 110-42 record.
Springfield relied on the bat of Norberto Taváres to get the win. The designated hitter ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Stars ahead, 3-2. For the game, Taváres had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
