| Cortés Helps Greenville Cruise to 10-1 Win | A nice crowd turned out to see the Greenville 84s and Portland Cards clash at The Kallipolis.
The Greenville 84s topped the Portland Cards by the score of 10-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Juan Cortés. Cortés was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the 84s on the day. Hong-ryul Yun earned the win for Greenville. He lasted 8.2 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 6 hits, while striking out 8. With the win, he raised his record to 11-1.
It could have been a different outcome for Greenville, had it not been for Carlos Torres, the 2024 Rookie of the Year Award winner . Torres contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fourth inning to put Greenville up, 4-0.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Torres said.
The 84s have an impressive 46-27 record.
