Multi-HR Day for Borbón as Rockets Overpower Bruins, 10-9
|
In a tight contest at Jersey West at Staples Field, the Nassau Rockets edged the So Cal Bruins by the score of 10-9. Nassau shortstop Salvador Borbón, who blasted 3 home runs, was named the player of the game. The Rockets, now 7-1, have hit the ground running this season.
Borbón had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a 1-1 slider from Masahiko Okada, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Rockets a 10-9 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Borbón.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Borbón told the Nassau News.
