| Oilers Lose to Rockets, 5-3 | The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace was the site of a competitive game between the El Dorado Oilers and Nassau Rockets.
The Nassau Rockets picked up a win at The Ballpark at Sloss Furnace, knocking off the El Dorado Oilers, 5-3. On the mound for Nassau was right-hander Armando Avilés, who played a pivotal role in the win. In 7 innings, Avilés surrendered 3 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 5. He allowed 2 runs. Suezo Morimoto notched his 4th save in 6 chances.
Don Ramey drove in one run for Nassau. The 29-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Pete Cook. It was his 36th RBI of the season.
"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Avilés after the game.
The Rockets bumped their record to 41-31 with this latest triumph.
