Brown Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
|
It was a parade of hits for Howard Brown of the North Carolina Tar Heels at Illinois Field today.
Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Brown finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the Tar Heels to a 25-2 victory.
"Brown was really good and we were really bad," groaned Fighting Illini manager Álex Vargas. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him."
Howard Brown struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and was hit by a pitch in the 9th.
