Injury Sidelines Ben Simpson for Season Saturday, September 16th, 2028 The Monroe Mallards learned that Ben Simpson is likely to be out for 4-5 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Roy Eagle Squadron. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn back muscle. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Monroe manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Ben is back in action." Simpson's record up to now is 3-and-2 with 1 save and a 2.97 ERA. He has given up 38 hits in 39.1 innings with 49 strikeouts. |
