McGuire on Fire, 5-for-6 Against Plymouth Thursday, August 26th, 2027 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Scott McGuire is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-6 against the Plymouth Cocks at Gun Slingers Ballpark today.The monster effort from the 21-year-old first baseman helped the Santa Anna Dukes take the win, 12-1. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Cocks manager Félix Ramírez. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Scott McGuire singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Edwin Parker in the 5th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and hit a two-run double in the 9th.
