That's exactly what Marv Gardner did today at Shaolin Grounds, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 15-1. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Gardner said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Quincy Doughboys third baseman blistered the Pittsburgh Killa Beez for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 4 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Pittsburgh manager Pedro Hernández said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Marv Gardner hit a solo-shot off Vernon Mathis in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Joe Watson in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Ron Hawkins in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
