Big Day for Ramos: Swats 5 Hits
Sunday, August 15th, 2027
It was a sensational day at the plate for Juan Carlos Ramos as he led the charge to a 18-3 win over the Fire Fighters. The Watertown shortstop was pure misery for the Gilbert pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 6 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting.
"Ramos put the ball into play and he really hit it hard," said Matt Gates, manager for the Fire Fighters, after the game. "When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball."
Juan Carlos Ramos doubled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This season Ramos has 1 home run and a .442 batting average.
