5-for-6 Game for De Jesús
Friday, August 18th, 2028
After a 5-hit effort to lead San Francisco's 20-4 victory over the Grand Rapids Dutch Ovens, catcher Ángel De Jesús told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."

"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is pretty nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the BSA Rookie League-level is really something special."

The 18-year-old player earned his accolades today at Flatulence Field with a spectacular 5-for-6 game against the Dutch Ovens.

"His swing is getting there," said Macho Men skipper Vincent Williams, who spoke glowingly of De Jesús after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Ángel did that to perfection today."

Ángel De Jesús flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Ernesto Sánchez in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.

In 29 games this season De Jesús has compiled a .232 batting average with 26 hits and 3 home runs. He has also scored 14 times and knocked in 11 runs.
