Williams Sizzles -- Smokes Eagle Squadron for 5 Hits
Monday, July 19th, 2027
Yellowknife second baseman Alan Williams could do no wrong in today's 21-2 win over the Eagle Squadron as he collected 5 hits.
"Things were in his favor in every one of his at-bats," Eagle Squadron skipper Raśl Muńóz said to the press corps after the game. "He got hitters' counts."
Williams agreed, saying that getting ahead early in the counts was "the key" to his game.
"Once you get ahead, it makes it a lot easier because you get a better pitch to hit," he said. "You know the pitcher has to come in with it. And you're ready."
Alan Williams hit a two-run single in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, flied out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Mark Owens in the 7th.
Williams has collected 7 hits for the Claws this year, 1 of them home runs. He has also netted 5 RBIs and scored 5 runs while batting .350.
