5-Hit Game for Weatherdon Friday, April 23rd, 2027 Even as a kid, Robbie Weatherdon said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At Havoc Stadium today, Weatherdon showed how well he learned that lesson. The 17-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Shelby HS Rockets, helping his team knock off the Huntsville HS Wasps by a score of 22-9. "They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today." Robbie Weatherdon flied out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
