Jackson Socks it to Summit, Cracks 5 Hits
Thursday, May 4th, 2028
The 5th time was not the charm for Franklin Jackson today.
The left fielder for the Buchanan HS hit the milestone today at Lincolnville HS Fields, but it was the Grand Rapids HS Summit that salvaged a 5-4 victory. Jackson finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Grand Rapids HS manager Pedro Rivera said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Jackson declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
Franklin Jackson hit a solo-shot off Ron Franklin in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Jackson on the season is hitting .481 with 8 home runs. His stats include 36 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
