MacDonald Pounds 3 HR Against Volunteers Sunday, May 23rd, 2027 Hubert MacDonald went yard three times in a Georgetown Hoyas victory over the Tennessee Volunteers at Shirley Povich Field today. "I was in a groove," he said. "Every pitch they tossed up there looked like a grapefruit." For the day, the Georgetown third baseman went 3-for-4 against Tennessee with 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a brilliant display of power hitting that led the Hoyas to the 15-12 win. "I tell you what, I pretty shocked because I didn't think that last ball had enough to get out," he told BNN reporters in the clubhouse following the game. "I thought it was just going to be a long out." Hubert MacDonald grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Miguel Muñóz in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tim Jones in the 4th, flied out in the 5th and hit a two-run home run off Arthur Stewart in the 7th. In his season totals, MacDonald has 19 home runs, .289 BA, .404 OBP, 43 RBIs and 34 runs scored. He has played in 48 games. |
