Texas Tech Loses José Fernández for Season Saturday, May 22nd, 2027 Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Oklahoma State Cowboys, Red Raiders reliever José Fernández was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 16 months with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The Texas Tech skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
